Please read these terms and conditions carefully. Participation in this Promotion will constitute your agreement to comply with these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with these Terms and Conditions, please do not participate.
The Terms and Conditions set out below apply to all participants in the BestDrive Promotion taking place in participating BestDrive retail stores nationwide. Please refer to the following website for the current Terms and Conditions for this Promotion: www.bestdrive.co.za
Important clauses, which may limit our responsibility; place an obligation on you to indemnify us; involve an acknowledgment of any fact; or involve some risk for you, will be in bold and italics. You must pay special attention to these clauses.
1. THE PROMOTION:
This BestDrive Promotion ("the Promotion") is conducted by Continental Tyre South Africa (Pty) Ltd, with registration number 1998/005020/07 and principle place of business at Cadle Street, New Brighton West.
2. PROMOTION PERIOD:
2.1 The Promotion will take place from the 1 July 2021 to the 31 July 2021. No purchases made from 1 August 2021 will qualify for a scratch card and no redemptions via the USSD line will be acceptedafter midnight on 7 August 2021.
2.2 The duration of the Promotion may be extended or curtailed at the discretion of the Promoter.
3. WHO MAY ENTER:
3.1 All Participants must:
- be a natural person and be at least 18 (eighteen) years of age at the date of entry.
- be a citizen of the Republic of South Africa, Namibia, Swaziland and/or a legal resident.
- be in possession of a valid South African, Namibian, Swaziland Identity Document or passport with a residence/work permit.
- reside in the country from which they entered the competition for the duration of the Promotion Period as well as for the period during which the prize draws and the delivery or collection of the prizes takes place.
3.2 Participation in this Promotion excludes directors, members, partners, promotional and advertising agents, merchandisers, employees or consultants of the Promoter, their Agencies, organizers and participating stores, of the Competition and the spouse, life partner, parent, child, brother, sister, business partner or associate of any of the said persons.
4. HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROMOTION:
4.1 The below instructions qualify for a scratch card entry in the competition:
4.1.1 The instore purchase and fitment of any tyre/s, brake/s, battery/ies and/or shock/s at a participating BestDrive store/retailer nationally. Only services attached to the fitment or installation of the qualifying product are included.
4.1.2 For airtime, voucher, and weekend away prizes, dial *120*22211*CODE# and follow the prompts. USSD costs 20 cents per 20 seconds. Winning codes can be found at the back of the card.
4.1.3 Winners will then be prompted to answer questions to complete the journey.
4.1.4 Standard data network rates apply.
4.2 Scratch cards are capped at 1 (one) per unique invoice number. If more than one entry per invoice is received, only the first entry will be accepted. The system rejects additional entries.
4.3 The qualifying products are subject to availability at time of purchase.
4.4 Scratch cards are at participating dealers only, subject to availability and limited stock. First come, first serve. While stocks last.
4.5 Prizes are seeded randomly, and a range of prizes are available at each participating store.
5. CAN I QUALIFY MORE THAN ONCE FOR THE PROMOTION?
5.1 Multiple winners will be permitted, subject to each purchase being for a new and unique purchase (with a unique invoice number) and in accordance with the above entry requirements. Should there be any dispute in this regard; the Promoter’s decision will be final.
5.2 The Promoter reserves the right to withhold prizes and to reclaim any such prize if a breach of these rules is subsequently discovered.
5.3 The scratch card that is provided as the competition mechanism when purchasing a battery, brakes, shocks or tyres cannot be used more than once or transferred to another person.
5.4 Any attempt to use multiple accounts or other tactics to enter more than the stated limit may result in disqualification and all associated entries will be void. Entries generated by script, macro, bot, commercial contest subscription, incentives or other means not sponsored by the Promoter, entering service sites or any other automated means and entries by any means that subvert the entry process or do not conform to the terms or spirit of these competition rules, will void the entry and may disqualify the entrant.
5.5 Similarly, any finalists linked for using the same IP address and/or e-mail address for the requested document submissions or form completion, will be disqualified.
6.1 The Promotion will afford the participant a chance to win a share of any one these prizes:
6.1.1 Free rotation and balancing (to be used by 15 November 2021) or
6.1.2 750 x R50 Discount off purchase or
6.1.3 400 x R100 Discount off purchase or
6.1.4 28 x R500 Discount off purchase or
6.1.5 28 x R1000 Discount off purchase or
6.1.6 2 000 x R50 Airtime or
6.1.7 500 x R100 Takealot Voucher or
6.1.8 7 x Weekend away vouchers for two people sharing valued at R10 000 each or
6.2 Promotional images are merely a representation of the prize/s and the actual prize/s may vary.
6.3 Prizes are not transferrable or exchangeable and shall not be redeemed for cash and if not taken up for any reason, they shall be forfeited.
6.4 Winners will accept the prize as is. The promoter reserves the right to substitute any of the prizes for a different prize of similar value.
6.5 The winner will be responsible for any costs resulting from accepting this prize.
6.6 BestDrive will not be liable for any taxes that are incurred as a result of the prize.
6.7 Any risks in relation to the prizes (such as loss, theft or damages) will pass to the winner once the prize has been allocated.
7. AWARDING OF PRIZE:
7.1.1 The R50 airtime prizes are only available in South Africa and a Prepaid 10-digit cellular number needs to be submitted for the airtime to be automatically allocated. Upon receiving a valid 10-digit cellular number the airtime will be automatically allocated to the cellular number within 1 hour of the closing screen notification on the USSD confirming the airtime will be allocated. The promoter is not responsible for any incorrect cellular numbers being provided on the USSD. Airtime vouchers may only be used on Top-Up or prepaid cellular phone accounts. Any customer on any other cellular phone contract will not be able to receive the airtime and will be asked on the USSD string to provide a friend’s cellular number as an alternative.
7.2 Takealot Voucher:
7.2.1 The Takealot voucher prizes are only available in South Africa and will be awarded electronically via SMS to the cellphone number that dialed the USSD number.
7.3 Weekend Away:
7.3.1 The local weekend away is only available to redeem in South Africa. Transport to and from the venue is for the winner’s own account. No bookings will be rescheduled or replaced should the winner and accompanying travelers miss their booking for any reason whatsoever. Travel dates over school holidays or during peak seasons are subject to availability and may result in shortened dates or exclusions in the travel package to accommodate the increased rates. The winner is to provide 3 separate departure date possibilities within 2 weeks of the initial winner phone call so that availability may be checked. Should the desired dates be unavailable the winner is to provide 3 new dates until a booking can be confirmed. All packages are subject to the package fitting into the R10 000 prize budget. Any unforeseen price increases with venues/suppliers will result in a package being adjusted accordingly to fit within the budget (for example some items may be removed from the inclusions). Packages subject to seasonal adjustments, currency fluctuations, and accommodation availability at the time of booking. Travel costs are not included and are for the winner’s own account – this is to be kept in mind when choosing a package option/destination. Travel insurance is not included and will be for the winner’s own account. Any costs incurred while travelling (not included in the package) are for the winner’s own account and will not be reimbursed. All bookings are to be made before 30 September 2021. Bookings may be made for a later/advance date (up to 31 October 2021).Booking requests to be made a minimum of 4 weeks before your preferred booking date. Once the package has been booked, the prize is considered finalised and no adjustments or cancellations will be made. Should COVID19 and lockdown restrictions prevent local travel within SA, winners may opt to receive the voucher value via EFT payment (less banking costs and admin fees). This will only be accommodated if there is a valid reason provided or Covid restrictions in place and does not apply to bookings that have already been confirmed and paid for. Should travel be restricted after the booking is confirmed, the booking will be moved up to the next available booking date once restrictions have been lifted.
7.4 Tyre Care Package (Winter Carnival Offer):
188.8.131.52 The Tyre Care Package for R295 including VAT is A basic Road Trip Ready Check that consists of a visual inspection of the vehicles’ tyres (including spare tyre,) brakes, shocks, and an inspection of the battery.

220.127.116.11 Standard basic wheel alignment which only includes the adjustable toe setting on the front axle of the vehicle.
18.104.22.168 Participants must make an appointment (book in advance via telephone or confirmed e-mail) at a participating BestDrive fitment centre to secure the tyre care package. A Tyre Care Package availability and appointment is limited to the number of slots available which is determined by the participating BestDrive dealer: it is a limited offer and availability is not guaranteed. The offer is only valid at participating dealers.
7.5 Discount off purchase:
7.5.1 Prizes that are a Rand amount off the purchase of tyres, batteries, brakes or shocks will be rewarded immediately with a discount off the invoice by the participating dealer where the qualifying purchase was made.
7.5.2 The discount off purchase prize cannot be transferred and must be used immediately against the transaction for which it was awarded to. The prize cannot be used against another or new purchase or transferred to an alternative purchase.
7.6 Win your Product Back Prize:
7.6.1 The Win your product back prize is not limited but only relates to one transaction and the qualifying product would need to be fitted to the vehicle in order to qualify for the reward. The prize includes charges associated with the fitment and/or installation of the Win your product prize; and therefore includes the fitment and balancing of the tyre prize, the installation of the battery prize, the fitment of the brakes prize and the fitment of the shocks prize.
7.6.2 The product back prize includes the charges attached to the fitment of the prize, however in the case of tyres it excludes ALIGNMENT as this service is not attached to the fitment of tyres.
7.6.3 The Win your product back prize cannot be transferred and must be used immediately against the transaction for which it was awarded to. The prize cannot be used against another or new purchase or transferred to an alternative purchase.
7.7 Rotation and Balancing:
7.7.1 Prize to be redeemed before 15 November 2021.
7.7.2 The Scratch card is to be kept along with the invoice to redeem prize.
7.7.3 Participants must make an appointment in advance (via telephone or confirmed e-mail) at the participating BestDrive fitment centre where they purchased the qualifying product to receive their Rotation and Balancing reward.
7.7.4 Available at participating dealers only.
7.8 The promoter is not responsible for any undelivered prizes due to any incorrect details being provided by the winner with regards to their cellular number or Network related errors. The promoter will not be responsible for any lost or stolen prizes and no replacements will be made.
7.9 Prizes are not transferrable, exchangeable and may not be redeemed for cash and if not taken up for any reason, may be forfeited or be the subject of a separate draw or be allocated at the Promoters' discretion to another winner.
7.10 The Promoter is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or expired vouchers and no replacements will be made.
7.11 It is the winner’s responsibility to take note of the expiry date of their voucher and ensure they redeem the voucher before the expiry date.
7.12 Proof of eligibility, in the form of a valid South African identity book/resident or permit/work, as well as proof of address and any other document which may be requested to enter the Promotion, must be provided to the Promoter upon request.
7.13 Winners will be announced on social media and by participating in this competition, the winner gives permission for their name and picture to be used in advertising and/or media free of charge.
7.14 The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify anyone entering the Promotion that is not able to provide the requested documentation to the Promoter within 48 hours of the first request for documentation.
8.1 To the extent permitted by the Consumer Protection Act and any other applicable law:
- The participant and/or winner(s) hereby indemnifies the Promoter, its associated companies (directors, officers and employees) and agents against any direct, indirect, special, incidental, consequential or punitive damages or loss of any kind regardless of how this was caused, and whether it arose under the law of contract or delict or otherwise, because of the participants entrance to the Promotion.
- The Promoter excludes all warranties (express or implied), representations and liabilities regarding this Promotion (other than for death or personal injury caused by its negligence and/or fraud).
8.2 The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of participants (including but not limited to a participant’s identity, age and place of residence) and to reject any participant who has not complied with these Terms and Conditions. Errors and omission may be accepted at the Promoter’s discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
8.3 The Promoter reserves the right to carry out reasonable due diligence to help ensure that the use of any such person in advertising or publicity for the Promotion will not bring the Promoter or any of the Promoter’s brands into public disrepute, contempt, scandal or ridicule or reflect unfavorably on the Promotion as determined by Promoter in its sole discretion.
8.4 Neither Promoter nor its agents or distributors will have any liability in relation to this promotion.
9.1 Participants of this Promotion are voluntarily providing their personal information to the Promoter, its associated agencies and the third-party service providers running the promotion in conjunction with the Promoter. By entering this competition, participants authorize the Promoter to collect, store and use (not share) personal information of participants for communication or statistical purposes. Participants are entitled to decline any marketing communication and inform the Promoter in writing should the participant wish to be removed from all communication.
9.2 By participating in this Promotion, the participant consents that the Promoter may use names and images taken of the winners/participants for publicity purposes, without any further remuneration being payable to the winner. All promotional material will become the sole property of the Promoter. However, the participant/winner has the right to decline participating in any promotional activity or to object to these images being used by written notification to the Promoter at Continental Tyre South Africa (Pty) Ltd, Cadle Street, New Brighton West, Attention: Legal Department. The written notification is to reach the Promoter by no later than the last stipulated Promotion date of the relevant station or communication platform.
Terms and Conditions
10.1 The Promoter will not be responsible for any non-delivery of entries.
10.2 The Promoter is not responsible for any errors, non-deliveries or crossed lines caused by cellular phone service providers or networks and cannot be held liable for any resulting errors or prize misallocations.
10.3 You may only enter the Promotion as an individual; any entries that, in the Promoter’s absolute discretion, have been made via participation in a syndicate will be disqualified.
10.4 Any entries made, in the Promoter’s discretion, via any form of machine assisted intervention enabling multiple entries will be disqualified.
10.5 The Promoter reserves the right to amend, modify, change, postpone, suspend or cancel this Competition and any prizes, terms and conditions, or any aspect thereof, without notice at any time, for any reason that the Promoter reasonably deems necessary. All participants agree to waive any rights that they have in respect of this promotional competition and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against the Promoter or its agents.
10.6 The onus rests on the participants to check the website for updates to the Terms and Conditions.
10.7 No liability shall lie on the Promoter in favour of any participant, winner(s) and/or third party arising from such cancellation, suspension or termination. Therefore, the participant waives his/her right which they may have against the Promoter and hereby acknowledges that they will have no right of recourse or claim of any nature whatsoever against the Promoter.
10.8 The Promoter may refuse to award a prize to any participant/winner in the event that that they reasonably believe, in their sole discretion, that the winner is not eligible to win, fails to accept the prize, has acted in a manner that is not in the spirit of the Promotion, their conduct can be reasonably interpreted as scamming or circumventing the rules of the Promotion, if there is any suspicion of any irregularities or fraudulent activities, if it would be unlawful to award the prize or if the winner fails to accept the prize after 2 (two) attempts for any reason whatsoever, or the winner fails to provide the Promoter with the required information to hand over the prize. In any of these circumstances the winner will forfeit the prize, the Promoter’s decision shall be final, and no correspondence will be entered into. In addition, any entrants/participants/winners suspected of fraud will be disqualified from any future Promotions run by the Promoter or their associated agents.
10.9 If part or all any clause of these Terms and Conditions is illegal, invalid or enforceable:
- It will be read down to the extent necessary to ensure that it is not illegal, invalid or unenforceable, but if that is not possible.
- It will be severed from these Terms and Conditions and the remaining provisions of these Terms and Conditions will continue to have full force and effect.
10.10 Any dispute with number ownership (such as more than one individual claiming to be the owner of the same number – verbally or otherwise) will result in immediate disqualification of both the number and the individuals and no negotiations will be entered into.
10.11 Neither the Promoter nor its agents or distributors will have any liability whatsoever, to any of the participants in relation to their participation in this Promotion.
10.12 The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any Winner without informing the Winner in case such Winner fails to comply with the Promotion’s terms and conditions.
10.14 All terms and conditions are subject to the laws of Republic of South Africa and should a doubt or dispute occur, it will be taken before the courts of the Republic of South Africa. This Promotion is not applicable in conjunction with any other offers/ promotions offered by the Promoter.

11. Protection of Personal Information
In terms of the law known as the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013, (POPIA) the Promoters will have to process the following personal information which belongs to you: name, address, email, cell phone or telephone contact details, and certain preferences about you, where and if applicable, in order to process and give effect to your entry and to notify all entrants whether they have won, which personal information has been received directly from you, and which will be shared on a need to know basis with certain third parties, for the purposes of giving effect to this competition, including lawyers, advertising agencies, auditors, and the Consumer Commission Regulator. Whilst we hold your personal information, we will keep it safe and secure until the purpose for holding it has come to an end, whereafter it will be destroyed, and you accept that by entering into the Promotional Competition that you agree that we may process your personal information as indicated above.
12. Promotional Material and Marketing Activities
12.1 The Promoters may require the winners (at no fee) to be identified, photographed and the photograph or related article published / shared in social media, printed media, or to appear on radio and television, when accepting their prizes and/or after receiving their prize. Promoters shall have the right to use, share or publish in social media any photographs of any of the winners in perpetuity for purposes of promotional or marketing activities and any other purpose incidental thereto.
12.2 Should this become necessary, the winners may be required to sign a letter of consent.
12.3 The winners have a right to decline the invitation to use their image in marketing material or to participate in any marketing activity.
